Cynthia challenged the Sweat Pink sisterhood to share five places where we'd like to run - super fun (and super easy!) idea!
So...where do *I* want to run?
As the wise, Dr. Suess might say....Oh! The places I *want* to go!
1. New York City.
I've seen some spectacular sunrises here!
2. New Orleans
I have also ran in this city, but I've never done a race here, and I really want to! I love so much about this city. I mean, even the cemeteries are beautiful!
The Garden District, the French Quarter, Riverside and the City Park. All seriously stunning. The architecture here blows me away. Cafe Du Monde is never a bad idea for a good carb load. It's been way too long since I've had a beignet.
3. Paris.
Paris is *always* a good idea.
One of my BRF's is running the Paris Marathon in 2015 and I have insane race envy. This is one of my *must travel too* places in my lifetime and what better way to explore the city than on foot.
4. Vancouver.
I've wanted to go here for *forever*. It looks so beautiful. The air looks so clean *and* you can see whales? Yes, please! The same friend that is going to Paris is also going to Vancouver for the Lululemon SeaWheeze Half Marathon in August. I do wish I could go (especially to get some of the limited edition clothes that I could later sell on ebay to pad Louis' college fund).
5. Maui
So this is happening in exactly one month! We have been talking about going since last summer and this summer it will become a reality. My Hawaiian dreams are coming true! I cannot WAIT to go for a run in this beautiful piece of paradise!
and finally an honorable mention...
My hometown.
Sometimes I even think about running to another nearby town just to say I did it.
So where is YOUR favorite place to run?
Where would you like to run?
Hi Jolene! You've won a Liebster :) It's right here with your questions and the other 9 winners: http://wp.me/p3DB9u-Bi
ReplyDeleteThanks Meredith!!
DeleteThanks for linking up with us! Love your list and have similar thoughts. I forgot about New Orleans! dying to run there and visit again!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE New Orleans! It has been too long since I've been there. Seriously one of my favorite cities ever.
DeleteOh man I've always wanted to go to New Orleans so I can def agree with the addition of it to my list of running destinations as well
ReplyDeleteIt is such a wonderful city...so rich in history with spectacular food! You MUST go someday!
Deletethanks for linking up with us! love that list :) nyc is one of my fav places to run :)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!! NYC will always be tops on my list. It's where I ran my first marathon.
DeleteI've been to Vancouver!! From what I had seen (we were only there a day and a half), it's gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteThey have some really nice parks for running too (right along the shoreline). I would definitely go back there someday. If you ever go, you'll have to walk across the Capilano Suspension Bridge... it's scary high and very long!
I'd love to run anywhere where there's mountains (and running for pleasure, not because I'm fleeing a bear!); Rocky Mountains, Maroon Bells, Mount Rainier, Glacier National Park, Canadian Rockies ( Banff, Jasper) the Alps... I just love them all! I'm going to finally visit Vermont this fall... I've dreamed of wanting to go there since I was a kid!! I think we'll mostly be hiking in the Green Mountains, but I'll have to try and squeeze in a few runs along the Long Trail while we're out there! Congrats on getting to Maui!! I bet it'll be a beautiful place to run for sure!
I've seen that suspension bridge. It looks super cool!
DeleteI'd love to see New England in the fall as well.
Hey there, Fellow SPA here...
ReplyDeleteSeaWheeze is on my list! I am DYING to do it, just need to get someone I know motivated enough to join me (anyone, anyone?) :-)
Definitely get down to Wailea when you are in Maui and run on the path past the beach resorts. You will feel amazing!!! One of my favorite places to run
Ooooh! Good to know! We are staying in Ka'anapali (which I think is kind of close to Wailea) so I will definitely try to check it out.
DeleteI love New Orleans. That is my go to city when I want to do a quick getaway. I would love to run a race there, especially knowing that you are going to eat all that yummy Cajun food while you're there:) ~L
ReplyDeleteThe food is definitely one of the BEST parts of the city! I can't wait to get back there.
DeleteI also want to run SeaWheeze someday! And New Orleans would be such a beautiful run!
ReplyDeleteIt really is! The last time I was there I ran down St. Charles (where the trolley runs) into the Garden District. The homes are just gorgeous. The trees still had TONS of beads in (it was October!)!
DeleteStopping by from the Sweat Pink Ambassador network. The Iron Man competition is being held in Hawaii, that must be gorgeous! Great list :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! I can't wait to see Maui in person!
DeleteThat is a great list! I would like to run in NYC too- just something about it! Maui sounds beautiful- I did an Zooma 5K in Amelia Island- all beach! Tougher than I thought!
ReplyDeleteBeach running is SO hard! I feel like I am get no where slow in sand.
DeleteYou're going to love Maui! We went there for our honeymoon back in 2011, and I was in love with the island at first landing. I can't imagine many places more gorgeous to run than there!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait! I've only seen pictures...I imagine IRL is SO much more amazing!
DeleteAwesome places!!! I want to do a race in NYC even though I've run there when on business or personal trips.
ReplyDeleteThe NYC marathon is simply amazing! I recommend it to every runner.
DeleteI love your post and the photos/images are breathtakingly beautiful! I wanted to also say thanks for joining in on my link up/blog hop last Friday. It'll be happening this Friday as well and any/all are welcome. Have a fantastic rest of the week!
